I’m excited to share a new Wolf & Rabbit fabric collection with you! This group of TEN new prints includes mushrooms, stripes, moons, eucalyptus leaves, moths, and flowers, all hand painted by Ella Salomea Randall and digitally printed on GOTS Certified Organic European Cotton Lycra. These prints are perfect for your summer and fall sewing projects!
For my projects, I received 3/4 yard of Light Eucalyptus and a 1/2 yard of solid Charcoal. I was able to squeeze out two hair pieces and two tops for my girls! (I’ll share the second top a little later in the week!).
I really love the drape of these fabrics – since they’re not as thick as some other custom cotton lycra’s on the market, they really work well in garments that need less body (such as flowy shirts). I REALLY need to sew some Wolf & Rabbit up for ME instead of my kids!
Anyway, I love how eye catching the Bixby Creek Pullover by Phat Quarters is – it’s one of my daughter’s favorite patterns – and decided to make a new one for her with these fabrics. (I made this one other time using Wolf & Rabbit rainbows – I have a more detailed review of it over there!).
This particular pattern uses English Paper Piecing to accomplish the criss cross effect in the arms. While this pattern looks awesome once it’s finished, I don’t love the instructions — they seem to be poorly edited with various steps missing, and in some areas the text on the pattern pieces is written in mirror image. So, I wouldn’t recommend this to a beginner — if you’re intermediate though, I think you’ll be able to work it out – just be prepared to exercise some patience with it! (Sizes 2T – 14)
To finish off the look, I whipped up a scrunchie using this awesome YouTube tutorial – after having learned this method, there’s no way I can use another!
The fabric in this collection is available for preorder until March 4, 2021 with arrival expected late April.
Disclaimer: I received this fabric discounted in exchange for promotion. Opinions 100% my own!
