Sewing friends!! I am oh so proud of my latest make!! The new Itch to Stitch Causeway Bomber jacket is probably the most complicated thing I've ever made, but nevertheless, after making the muslin, I was able to bang it out over two evenings and a Saturday afternoon. With some patience (and maybe a few glasses of wine!) you can make this awesome jacket too!
I took a little bit of time in the last few weeks to sew for me! A pattern test for Itch to Stitch never fails to get me motivated to build out my wardrobe a bit more!
You know what I love about knit skirts? They're super comfy and immediately make you look put together with less effort than it takes to put on a pair of jeans. And skirts are way easier to sew than jeans! Itch to Stitch has just released the new Balboa Skirt and it comes with so many options, you may never need another knit skirt pattern again!

What a wacky year 2020 is turning out to be yes? When I was first invited to join the annual Raspberry Creek Fabrics Suit up for Summer Blog Tour hosted by SewSophieLynn and Paisley Roots, I of course had no idea that there would be a chance we may not actually GET to wear our swimsuits this year, but one can always HOPE! I don't know about you, but my emotions have been all over the place. Last week all I could see was a downward spiral of gloom, but this week I have a bit more hope. So, here's to a summer of sprinklers, water tables, and HOPEFULLY swimming pools too!
My goodness, these last few weeks have been such a blur, I forgot to do a writeup on DC Frocktails!
So, Frocktails! I wasn't entirely sure what this event would be all about but I knew I wanted to be part of it. I planned to jump on tickets as soon as they came available but then when I saw they were kinda pricey, I hesitated. And then when I finally decided to just get the tickets anyway, they had sold out! Thankfully I was able to get a ticket from the waitlist in early January.
It's new pattern time! Itch to Stitch launched the Tallinn Top and Dress today - this is a fitted knit top/dress with princess seams, center front seam, and options for a peplum, top, or dress. You'll need fabric with about 50% horizontal stretch and good recovery. I used Cotton Lycra for mine but you can use any jersey, double-brushed poly, ITY or French Terry.
The new Itch to Stitch Cape Cod Capelet (try saying that 10 times fast!) is available now and is a perfect quick sew AND gift for the holiday season!
I tested this garment last week, and it is seriously the fastest pattern test I think I've been on! You could really cut and sew this one in under an hour!
