What a wacky year 2020 is turning out to be yes? When I was first invited to join the annual Raspberry Creek Fabrics Suit up for Summer Blog Tour hosted by SewSophieLynn and Paisley Roots, I of course had no idea that there would be a chance we may not actually GET to wear our swimsuits this year, but one can always HOPE! I don't know about you, but my emotions have been all over the place. Last week all I could see was a downward spiral of gloom, but this week I have a bit more hope. So, here's to a summer of sprinklers, water tables, and HOPEFULLY swimming pools too!
As part of the Raspberry Creek Fabrics Blog Tour, I shared my take on the Jalie Crop Top. I thought I'd write a separate post with instructions on making the flounce! First up, I found this blog post from The Shapes of Fabric with instructions on working out the size of the flounce. I measured… Continue reading How to Add a Flounce to Jalie Crop Top
My goodness, these last few weeks have been such a blur, I forgot to do a writeup on DC Frocktails! So, Frocktails! I wasn't entirely sure what this event would be all about but I knew I wanted to be part of it. I planned to jump on tickets as soon as they came available but then when I saw they were kinda pricey, I hesitated. And then when I finally decided to just get the tickets anyway, they had sold out! Thankfully I was able to get a ticket from the waitlist in early January.

The owner, Rachel, sent me some of her fabrics to try out and share - and I am just so in love with them!
We're kicking off the annual Sew Long Summer blog tour this week, which is all about transitional wardrobe pieces, finishing up things that didn't get done over the summer, and whatever else Sew Long Summer might mean! Thanks to Mahlica Designs for hosting! I had so many ideas floating around my head for this tour… Continue reading Sew Long Summer Blog Tour
As I've mentioned before, my husband's first name means "dragon" so whenever I have the opportunity to sew up some dragon fabric, I usually jump on it! Affordable Fabrics & More sent me some dragon yardage, a coordinate and a panel this week, so it was a nice opportunity to finally make something for my son! I'm hoping this keeps him from feeling jealous of his sisters for at least a couple of weeks, haha! Read more...
The owner of Whimsy Baby Customs recently asked me to make her a swimsuit. Making swimsuits for others still makes me really nervous, so I decided I would make the style she wanted for my daughter first before tackling the adult suit. I already had the Jalie Diane in my collection and thought that would work well for the design she was looking for.
