The new Itch to Stitch Cape Cod Capelet (try saying that 10 times fast!) is available now and is a perfect quick sew AND gift for the holiday season! I tested this garment last week, and it is seriously the fastest pattern test I think I've been on! You could really cut and sew this one in under an hour!
This month we're pulling out less popular patterns from the Itch to Stitch catalog and giving them some love! The rule was that no more than 2 bloggers could use the same pattern. With 24 bloggers on this tour, you're bound to find a big variety of new loves! And there's a **GIVEAWAY** and a **SALE**. So read on ;-).
After being a member of the Wardrobe By Me pattern testing group for quite possibly an entire year, I finally, FINALLY, had time to participate in a test! My local sewing friend, Shalini, frequently tests for WBM and always raves about them to me, so I knew I wanted to get in on them! I decided that my poor, neglected husband deserved a new make from me, and I knew the Men's Fleece Jacket would be exactly his style.
This and next week I have the privilege of co-hosting the Basically Jalie Blog Tour with Stephanie of The Petite Sewist! We're joined by a lineup of talented bloggers from all around the world, all sharing their Jalie basics. To top it all off, we have an amazing giveaway too! Add all your favorite things into your own wishlist on Jalie's website, and you might just WIN YOUR JALIE WISHLIST!
I've been loving making hoodies for my kids - I love the options for details, showing off cool fabric, and my kids just love to have hoods and pockets on their clothes. What I don't like however, is that THEY NEVER WEAR THEM. Waaaaaah!!!!! I finally worked out that my children will only wear hoodies… Continue reading Jalie Zip-Front Hoodie + Seahorses
Well, Halloween is behind us (ahem, belated blog post on that coming soon!), which means it is *prime time* to get Christmas dresses out of the way! (*Contains affiliate links) This week I helped test the new Duchess & Hare Take a Bow Dress and Cape Winslet*, and together they make a most delightful (and… Continue reading Duchess & Hare – Take A Bow Dress & Cape Winslet Release
I decided to make this Oliver+S School Days jacket for the Whimsical Fabric sewalong — albeit a few days late! As much as I would have loved to buy some new fabric for this project, I really wanted to stash bust. I had some laminated cotton in my stash that we used to use under… Continue reading Oliver+S School Days Jacket
A few years ago I made the Ottobre Stardust jacket (4/2013) and recently my son has lived in it. When I found this Thomas fleece at Joann, I knew I wanted to make him a new hoodie. Since it’s almost summer, I decided to make it again in size 92 which should be a good… Continue reading Ottobre Stardust Jacket (4/2013)
I made this jacket for my friend’s baby shower and paired it with the Oliver + S School Photo Dress. It was such an easy sew! I’m quickly falling in love with Ottobre patterns. I decided to use freezer paper to trace out the pattern (I usually use regular tracing paper), and that made it… Continue reading Ottobre Drummer Jacket 4/2013
Originally published on BurdaStyle 12/03/2014 I finally made something for my son! It also happened to be my very first project from an Ottobre magazine (4/2013). The diagonal zipper was what caught my attention, so when I found some blue fleece on clearance at Joann, I decided it would work well as this sweater. (Incidentally,… Continue reading Ottobre Stardust Hooded Jacket with Diagonal Zipper
