Duchess & Hare Everything Nice Revisited

What are little girls made of, made of? What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice and everything nice; That's what little girls are made of. - Robert Southey, circa 1820 I tested the Everything Nice Dress by Duchess and Hare late last year, and in doing so made a fit muslin. Simple Life Pattern Company Camilla Top/Dress Release

Yay for new pattern releases! For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been testing the Camilla top and dress from Simple Life Pattern Company. Camilla is adorable, and even though my 8 year old declared that hers made her look like a giant napkin (some of our table linens are in the same fabric, and my 4 year old Slytherin has intentionally been wiping her hands on her dress just to mess with her), she has actually been choosing to wear it! Just in time for Christmas, I made pajamas for my kids - because that is what us sewists are supposed to do at Christmas time, yes? ;-). And then, because my kids insisted on wearing them immediately and I failed to photograph them, they of course: wet the bed the first night, spilled breakfast on… Continue reading And then it was Pajama Day, Every Day.

DC Frocktails! (and Jalie Rachel Dress)

My goodness, these last few weeks have been such a blur, I forgot to do a writeup on DC Frocktails! So, Frocktails! I wasn't entirely sure what this event would be all about but I knew I wanted to be part of it. I planned to jump on tickets as soon as they came available but then when I saw they were kinda pricey, I hesitated. And then when I finally decided to just get the tickets anyway, they had sold out! Thankfully I was able to get a ticket from the waitlist in early January.
