Misusu Dia Tunic & Boo! Leggings

As I mentioned in my last post, my 3 year old is Owl obsessed. She is constantly hooting, flapping, requesting to watch videos on owl pellets, demands owl books when we visit the library each week, and has been gradually amassing a collection of cute, stuffed owls. She was over the moon when I showed… Continue reading Misusu Dia Tunic & Boo! Leggings

Phat Quarters Bixby Creek Pullover

The latest fabric collection from Wolf & Rabbit is available for preorder through tonight and it definitely doesn't fail to disappoint! I've been looking forward to this fabric round ever since Ella (the designer) started sharing sneaks of the animal paintings she had been coming up with for it. Yes! You read that right --… Continue reading Phat Quarters Bixby Creek Pullover

More MK*Designs Fun

I've been busy this week trying to use up all the yardage I received from MK*Designs! The yoga knit I was sent has certainly proven to be very versatile - with some of the leftovers from my daughter's workout outfit, I was able to whip up a pair of paints and accents on a t-shirt for my son, and a dress for my youngest daughter. It's fun to have them matchy matchy ;-). These are all staple patterns in my collection - ones that I've made before and get plenty of loving from my kiddos!

Boo! Designs Dynamite Activewear

I've been on a legging kick lately! Naturally, I fully intended to make leggings for me... but when it comes to doing strike-off sews... well my kids always win out! I think I need some leggings in this Stitch print though - but just as an accent - I'm not quite brave enough to go to the gym with Stitch all over me, LOL.  Read more...

Every time I see this dress, I think, "I really need to get that pattern!" Finally I pulled the trigger this week and just grabbed… Continue reading The Pearlie Dress

Dragon Outfit for my Son

As I've mentioned before, my husband's first name means "dragon" so whenever I have the opportunity to sew up some dragon fabric, I usually jump on it!  Affordable Fabrics & More sent me some dragon yardage, a coordinate and a panel this week, so it was a nice opportunity to finally make something for my son! I'm hoping this keeps him from feeling jealous of his sisters for at least a couple of weeks, haha! Read more...

Pooh Bear Top & Shorts

MK*Designs recently sent me this adorable panel with Stitch dressed up as various Winnie the Pooh characters on a bee background. The panel was too big for my 3 year old so I decided to use it for my 7 year old instead. The A.A. Milne quote, "The things that make me different are the things that make me," describes my daughter to a T, so this really was perfect for her! (Read More)

How I plan a sewing project in Photoshop

Have you ever stared at a pattern and a fabric collection and struggled with visualizing how it will come together? Often when I'm planning out a "strike off" project with custom fabric, I do quick draft in Photoshop first. I use Photoshop because I've owned it for years, but there are some free or cheap… Continue reading How I plan a sewing project in Photoshop
