Peony Patterns Iberis Dress {Release}

I do love a stunning dress back, and the latest dress I tested from Peony Patterns is certainly no exception! Iberis is a sophisticated dress with a fabulous back! Ruffles, geometric design (perfect for stripes, color blocking, incorporating trims and laces, etc), keyhole back, and an invisible zipper to finish it off. The dress is sleeveless, but you can easily add sleeves from another Peony Patterns’ dress, such as Marigold.

Iberis is the second pattern release from Kenyan designer, Belinda Abira. Bel certainly has an eye for fabulous details (her first pattern was the Hyacinth Dress), and her construction and finishing methods are excellent. I particularly loved the way the zipper was installed in this dress – it was slightly different to how I’d previously done invisible zippers, and I was impressed at how it came together in such a professional way.

I received the fabric from Minerva in the UK (they ship worldwide!). It’s a cotton lawn from Dashwood Studio and a lovely fabric to work with! I’ve written more about my experience with this fabric and dress pattern on their website! I’d love you to go check it out!

The buttons and piping were gifted to me last year, and the eyelet fabric had been in my scrap bin for a few years! It was good to use it up!

Iberis is on sale for a few more days (ends Sunday, September 12, 2021) – grab it now (no code required) and have fun sewing it up!

We’ve been learning about the animal kingdom, so my kids decided to spend some time post-photoshoot to find fish in the stream!

Disclosure: I received this pattern in exchange for testing, and the floral fabric in exchange for promotion. Opinions 100% my own.
