Duchess & Hare Off the Cuff Dress Release

I thought I’d throw my hat in the ring to do some pattern testing this month (seriously, EVERYONE was doing pattern tests this month!! It took great restraint to just select ONE to do!), and tested the new Off the Cuff Dress by Duchess & Hare.

Just like the rest of the Duchess & Hare collection, this pattern has a vintage vibe, is professionally drafted and graded, is available as a digital download, and is a great addition to your little girl’s wardrobe!

The Off the Cuff Dress comes with the following options:

  • Sleeveless, Short/Elbow/Long sleeve
  • Half and full button closure (with placket)
  • Round and Pointed (camp) collars
  • High waist and regular waist, with instructions for a cropped bodice on the Duchess & Hare Blog.
  • Shirt or straight hem
  • Optional cuffs

Size ranges from 9M – 10Y

The dress is designed for wovens such as quilting cotton, baby wale, corduroy, light weight denim, flannel, poplin and shirting. I used quilting cotton for mine, and hope to make another one out of denim – either for my youngest or for my eldest! (This one actually started out as my muslin!)

For mine, I used the elbow sleeve, full button closure, camp collar, regular waist, shirt hem, and cuffs. I used SnapSource snaps rather than buttons.

Note that the final version will have an adjusted collar so that it shouldn’t reveal the collar stand.

Miss *almost 3* ADORES her new dress! She does LOVE when I make things especially for her! Right now she’s in the princess phase and ONLY wants to wear princess dresses, so I was glad she was excited about this one! Her birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks though, so I *do* have to get some princess dresses made before then!

Getting the dress on and off was a little challenging in the arms. I made a size 2T width, and 3T length, but only lengthened the skirt. It fits perfectly when it is ON, but I might do a size 3 all over for my next one so that she has some extra wiggle room. (As part of the testing process, we have to make the model’s exact size so the designer can get an accurate picture of the fit).

Link Summary

I received this pattern in exchange for testing it. Opinions and thoughts are 100% my own!
