I’m so excited about this dress! After I made my first Jalie Bella Fit & Flare dress, I knew I would be making a bunch more! This dress is so flattering, quick to sew, and has great impact!
A few months ago, I was scrolling through the Mabel Madison Modern Makers Facebook Group and saw a whole selection of designer performance knits on sale. Being that I’m obsessed with lime green, it was only natural that this one would jump out at me. I took all 3 yards! (Don’t worry – there’s still more available – just not in this particular print!). I figure the leftovers will make perfect workout leggings (that is, unless my daughters convince me to make Bella’s for them too!).
If you do have plans for leggings or smaller projects though, definitely check out Mabel Madison’s performance power packs! You get 4 assorted yards of premium performance knit for one low price, with speedy shipping to boot.
I decided not to hem this dress. The performance knit looks better unhemmed in my opinion. It doesn’t curl and has a nice weight, so hemming isn’t necessary. Instead, I threaded the serger tails back through with my handy dandy double eye needle (affiliate link). If you don’t have one of these, I highly recommend them – total game changer if you have serger thread tails to deal with!
This dress is so much fun! Hubby’s birthday is next week, so I think this will be perfect for a night out!

Disclosure: I’m a Brand Ambassador for Mabel Madison however I bought this fabric myself before officially becoming an Ambassador 😉
