Two trends I’m seeing in swimsuits lately are flounces and high waisted bottoms. Miss 6 recently declared she HAD to have a bikini. (Cue Daddy’s immediate “NO!” haha).
I decided that if I made her a bikini, I’d make it fairly modest, so enter: flounces and high waisted bottoms!

Boo! Designs recently released a new Flounce Dress*, which actually coordinates perfectly with both the Spandex Skater Dress* and the Swimmers* patterns.
To make this mashup, I used the size 4 (chest measurement) Flounce Dress bodice with no extra length. I used the Boo Swimmers’ Classic Bottoms and added 2 inches to the top of the back and front. In hindsight I should have added about 2.5 – 3 inches though, because it hits right at her belly button which bugs her a lot. (Well, that and she wants them at their regular height *well* below the belly button!)
I also added a bow to the front and back of the suit using this Spandex Bow Tutorial on the Boo! blog*.
