Peppa Pig Dress/Tunic and Leggings

26624404134_75742deb23_bMy second project with the Peppa Pig panels! I created this dress with Ottobre Magazine 3/2015 #15 “Lionella”. I think this has been one of my most time consuming knit projects! There just seemed to be a lot of pieces and parts, but I got there in the end.

Overall I liked the look. I would make it again, but I think I would add some length to it. The magazine calls it a dress, but without the leggings it is easy to see her undies, so I would really call this more of a tunic. One design element is a strap in the back along the neckline. My 4 y/o keeps asking what it is for!

The sleeves were a little puzzling, and I did have to seam rip them just once! They are folded with elastic stitched to the middle – this middle part is the sleeve opening and the fabric folded together creates a bubble look.

I ran out of clear elastic part way through, so the skirt was partially attached with regular 1/4″ elastic. This has created some odd bulk in the seam unfortunately.

BUT, I finally FINALLY ordered some Framilon! I can’t wait to start using it – I’ve heard so many great things about it! (I purchased it on Etsy from a store in the UK).

The leggings are also from this magazine (3/2015 #16 “Diamond”). They are 3/4 length and a little baggy. My daughter adores them though.

(Hopefully I will take some better photos later. Miss 4 isn’t always the greatest at styling herself, LOL).
