Children’s Corner Mamie Dress – Cherries

(Originally posted on BurdaStyle, August 25, 2015)

As part of the Whimsical Fabrics sew-along, I made this Mamie Dress by Children’s Corner (2/12/18 Note: Pattern appears to be discontinued, so you may find it on eBay!). I let my daughter shop from my stash, and she selected this cherry fabric that I’d had earmarked for something for me… Oh well! I think she was with my when I bought it and has been obsessing for it ever since!

I am very glad that I did this sew-along. I found the instructions to be rather difficult to look at (even though I am familiar with Ottobre and Burda which are both fairly bare boned!).

The seams are all finished – mostly French seams.

The back is supposed to have buttons but since I had bright cherry red snaps in my stash, I used those instead. The only things I had to buy specifically for this project was the rick rack and the red fabric for the piping.
